The Stratford Library Children's Department has created literacy kits based on a variety of themes. These Leading to Reading bags are available for daycare providers, nursery school teachers, parents, caretakers, and other adults to enjoy with their children. Each bag contains a variety of books and toys, as well as information on how to use the materials and suggested activities. They are designed for preschoolers ages three to five, but other children may enjoy them. Our staff hopes these kits will help children develop a love for reading and creative play. These kits are made possible by an LSTA grant from the Connecticut State Library.
Before you can check out a kit, you will be asked to participate in a workshop to explain the kits and how they work.
