New Career Center Opens at Stratford Library

The Stratford Library Adult Services Department announces the opening of its new Career Center located in the Reference Department.   It is free and open to the public.

The Career Center features three user-friendly, state-of-the-art computers for job seekers and career oriented individuals.  Computers feature all of the library’s current data bases with several new additions.  Job seekers can reserve up to two hours time in order to fill out job applications, compose resumes, review Civil Service tests and much more.  New data bases to assist patrons with resume preparation, sample job interviews and guides to professional development are also available.

Patrons interested in utilizing the Career Center must be 18 years and older and have a current Connecticut library card.  Teenagers under the age of 18 are allowed with a reference from the Library’s Teen Services Department.  The Library is also planning a series of free, hands-on workshops detailing basic word, internet and email instruction as well as an introduction to the many job data bases it offers.

For further information or reservations call the Adult Service Department at 203.385.4164.
